Hoy, como es costumbre, a las 5:35 hora de Los Angeles la Academia del cine y televisión dio a conocer la lista de nominados para Los Oscars de este año.

La gran sorpresa fue que Interstellar, al igual que en los Golden Globes, no figuró en las categorías importantes y solo obtuvo nominaciones en categorías técnicas.

Por otro lado Selma, la biografía de Martin Luther King Jr. que parecía ser una competidora importante para estos premios solo aparece en dos categorías, Mejor Película y Mejor Canción.

A pesar de la esperanza que teníamos este año, o tenían alguno al menos, Libertador no logró una de las cinco nominaciones a Mejor Película Extranjera. Desgraciadamente a pesar de estar haciendo en los últimos años el mejor cine de nuestro país, todavía no conseguimos aparecer en esos 5 nombres de nominados… pero pronto lo haremos, gracias a directores talentosos como Francisco Mendez cuyo trabajo se sumará a la interminable lista de Venezolanos talentosos que nos harán brillar en el extranjero.

Wes Anderson pasa de ser un director alternativo usualmente pasado por alto en los premios a liderar este año con The Great Budapest Hotel. Por otro lado Meryl Streep fue nominada por la 19 vez, rompiendo así su propio record.

Los Oscars se celebrarán el 22 de Febrero y el anfitrión de este año será Neil Patrick Harris.
